Zip up the down jackets and come join us at the Chili Festival and North American Pond HockeyChampionship, Saturday February 11, 2023. Chili Fest brings an entire family-friendly day on Wayzata Bay, located right down on Lake Street. Food vendors, bars, and activities of all-kinds, including an on the ice mini putt putt golf course to play! Down the street, at Maynard’s, watch the Supreme Dream Team’s Pond Hockey All-Stars participate in the North American Pond Hockey Tournament! Come cheer on the team for a game and then slip on down to the Chili Fest for mini putt putt! We hope to see you on the lake!
Around Town in February
February…Might as well take advantage of it! It’s about the only thing we can do in Minnesota. Hopefully, most of us are skipping the winter (or at least part of it) and getting out of town for some sun, fun, and vacation, but if you’re stuck in the state, here are few a fun things to consider doing:
- Go to a show – There are a lot of great bands coming to town this month including Margo Price, Bush, Blake Shelton, and YG. See a full list “Here.”
- Take your date out for Valentine’s Day – We all know in the Twin Cities it’s almost impossible to book a reservation at a nice restaurant even a week before. This is your reminder to reserve a spot at your favorite place. A few recommendations are Billy Sushi, Owamni, and Market and Malcom Yards! All great spots in their own right!
- Watch that Ground Hog – let’s hope and pray this sucker sees his shadow so we can get out of this wintery-mess a few weeks early!
Mortgage News and Notes
The spring real estate market has come early. Since the first of the year, according to “Trading Economics,” mortgage application rates are up over 30%. As inflation continues to cool and interest rates come down from the previous historic highs, we believe we will see this trend continue. Although inventory is higher compared to last year at this time, we are expecting a continued unbalanced relationship between the numbers of homes for sale vs. buyers interested in buying. “Fred Economic Data” is expecting 7 months of buyer demand and only 4 months of supply in housing. This may create another highly competitive market this spring and summer for buyers.
